My mother's family lived in Canton, TX, leaving for Houston sometime around 1929.  The family name is Russell.   I understand I may have relatives still in the area.

  Jessica Hill from Florida (Fisher/Loven/Currey Families) message 26 · sent: 2010-03-09 14:09
I am looking for any information on the Fisher,Loven, and Currey families. I am a decendant who is interested in finding out a little bit more about my roots on my mother's side as it is almost impossible for me to find information on my father's side as they are indians from the carribbean. I have a couple names from these families. M.B and Tennessee Fisher, John T. and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Currey. Unfortunatley I don't have names for the Loven family, so information on them would be appreciated.

Robert T. Brannon from Dallas, Texas (1st Annual East Texas & Van Zandt G.S. Seminar) message 20 · sent: 2009-08-09 17:04
I just wanted to let the staff's of both Genealogical Societies know that they did a wonderful job setting up, organizing, and pulling off a great informational seminar. Desmond Walls Allen presented a lot of good tips and interacted with the audience well. Next year we will be better prepared to purchased materials to aid in the continued good work of both societies.
The Hart-Morris Conservation Center / Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens was a very clean and well organized facility.

  Cheryl A. Daubs (Everett S. Ritter family) message 19 · sent: 2009-07-30 20:38
I am researching the Everett Ritter family. Everett died in Van Zandt County on Dec. 4, 1873. IWe have never been able to discover where he was living or buried. His Pension Application had in Panola County prior to this. I have found a listing for his probate records at the regional Texas Archives repository in Commerce, Texas, but live a ways away. I visited your site and absolutely fell in love with it. Your history of the county is fabulous and makes for great reading. Keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for your web-site.  This new one is so interesting and full of information for a novice Genealogist like me.  I have been using your sites for about 5 years now and I have found so much info on my ancestors.  I have also visited the Canton Genealogical Library and the beautiful County Court House.  These two places have a wealth of info for one who is seeking ancestral history.  I am researching the Adams. Baxter, Frater, Wheat family names.  Thank you.
