Lewis's Foundation from Shropshire (jacqui and family) message 198 · sent: 2009-07-31 19:46
Jacqui
Thank you so much for your lovely message re Lewis & his story. It must be so hard for you this month with it being the first anniversary of your sons angel day.x

I am honoured that you took the time to write on Lewis's guestbook, whilst your own grief is still so very raw.

You are an inspirational family, to have lost your child then gone on to donate his organs so others can live is a fantastically selfless thing to do.

Here if you need anything, love & support

Karen,Colin and family

I'm so sorry about Lewis and that a donor wasn't found to save your lovely little boy.

Thanks for the message on my son Calvin's web site. As you know, Cal changed the future for 5 people in July 2008 after dying following a road accident. He was 11. A 7 year old boy received his heart.

To see your love for Lewis and know your pain, I feel we did the right thing. I am just sad that Lewis wasn't helped in time.

Love Jacqui

Hi Debbie,
Thanks so much for your lovely kind words, though i have to admit there are plenty of times when i dont feel strong ! But there are also lots of times when doing Lewis's charity helps me keep strong !!!!

I will never stop promoting Lewis, his condition, charity and organ donation. He has made me the person i am today. That and fantastic supportive family and friends will get me through even my darkest days of which i still have many.

Sending lots of heart hugs your way,

Such an Honor to meet such a strong woman Karen!  Your son was an angel on earth for sure, he is adorable!  I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope with all my heart that his website brings you  peace and builds your strength to keep fighting the fight of surviving life without your preciious little one!  I pray everyday for all those that have passed away having waited for the Gift of Life and for those that  survive having received!  Life is very tough at times but thank God for computers.

Your son is beautiful.  Very wonderful memorial.  I lost a son as well to HLHS and similar to Lewis, his only hope would have been a heart transplant but he was too sick to even be put on the registry.  Thinking of all the heart babies and their families always.

I have visited your website before, but today, I find myself re-reading Lewis's story.
As a parent of a heart child, I have seen, first hand, an enormous amount of sadness, bravery, hope, and pain. I can't, however, begin to imagine how it feels to not take your baby home from the hospital.  While Lucy was in PICU a baby in a nearby bed grew his angel wings, and it broke my heart.
You are doing an amazing job, and have a first class website.
Lewis's story is an inspiration.

Hi Bob,
Thank you so much for your lovely message and very kind words about our son Lewis.
You are quite right, more does need to be done to increase the number of available donors not just in this country (UK) but worldwide.

I will take a look at your blogs, please keep intouch and hopefully together

Your story is heartwrenching and inspiring at the same time. I am the founder of the Facebook site Organ Transplant Patients, Families & Friends and i am a heart transplant recipient. I want to do whatever i can to prevent a recurrance of your situation. We simply must increase the number of organs available for transplant. The present situation is an international disgrace.
If you are interested you can read my blogs on the subject at http://bobsnewheart.wordpress.com

Regards
Bob Aronson.
